STRONGMAN CIRCUIT FEAT. JEAN-FRANÇOIS CARON
The mission of the Strongman Circuit is to allow the Canadian athletes to compete regularly and help them increase their visibility in order to be able to compete internationally. The circuit also aims to develop female athletes through its female professional league.
The Strongman Circuit was founded in 2004 by Mike Saunders who was himself a professional strongman. Mike wished to develop and construct a professional circuit which would allow athletes to compete anywhere in Canada and to put the country back onto the international radar. He wanted the circuit to become a positive reference to all strength athletes, male and female, as well as a stepping-stone for these same athletes towards international competitions.
In 2019 Mike graciously gave way to Jean-François Caron as head of the circuit. Caron is an exceptional athlete, devoted to the cause. He has won nine straight national championships and he is currently ranked fourth in the world.
